Religious Education Subject Area

A strong and distinctive Christian ethos is at the core of our school’s values. Religious Education is taught in accordance with the Rochester Diocesan scheme of work centred around Christianity and other religions.

A vibrant, creative and balanced curriculum provides and enhances opportunities for our children to develop spiritually, morally, socially and culturally to equip them well for the next stage of their lives.

In RE lessons children reflect upon their personal responses to issues and consider other people’s beliefs in a climate of mutual respect conducive to excellent conduct, behaviour and the promotion of high standards.

Pupils and staff assemble daily in the hall for collective worship led by Church members, staff and visitors. Children make individual, enthusiastic contributions to all aspects of worship.

Throughout the year RE days enrich the children’s experiences with a range of customs and cultures in a thoughtful, supportive and cohesive atmosphere.
